After the parties have exchanged documents they will each be orally examined by the other party's lawyer. The purpose of this examination is to obtain admissions that will assist the examining party's case and to obtain disclosure of all facts and evidence relied upon by the party being examined. In certain circumstances an examining party may elect to have these discoveries completed by way of written interrogatories.
